St. Jude’s Seminar Collaboration
PhD candidates and MS-thesis students are welcome to apply to present their work at St. Jude’s National Undergraduate Symposium (June 9-10th) as an invited speaker for conference attendees, St Jude faculty and students. The GSA will cover all expenses. The trip is a great CV addition, as well as an opportunity for networking with faculty and students. We want abstracts by March 9th.
Elections in March
We’re looking for people to fill the President, VP, Secretary, and Treasurer roles. Taylor and Sam will be around to help the next officers next year but are both looking to transition out to focus on finishing work/graduating. If anyone is interested, they should email us with a brief statement on their qualifications for the role.
Special Interest Groups
An email went out last Friday afternoon advertising the start of the Special Interest Groups. We’re offering a fitness group, foodie group, and a trivia/games group. If anyone is interested, they can contact the group leader from the email. The purpose of the groups is to build friendships and a network of peer mentors through enjoying common interests. Each group should have their first meeting by the end of March and will meet at least once a month.
Spring Break Happy Hour
The GSA will be buying appetizers for students at JJ’s Grill on March 27th as a Spring Break treat/social event. Students are welcome to bring a guest and purchase their own drinks. Time is TBA.
